One of the least awesome things we deal with at Firecane is Google Business Profiles that get suspended, or these days, now require “Video Verification”. The Video Verifications is the replacement for the post card system of yesteryears. Business’s that have been verified for a long time, are now being forced to upload a video from their smart phone. This process could be an entire blog post by itself. But todady will will review what to do if you submit the video, and in a few weeks it’s still stuck at pending.
The short answer is you have to submit a support ticket as the first step, and that isn’t always a streight foward process. Google’s interfances, links, and support options are in constand flux, so what you get here, and what you get out of AI will not be an exact set of instructions. That being said, this was the last list given to me by AI, with a little bit of modifications from me.
What happend if the process gets stuck?
Unfortunately, there’s no official way to “speed up” a Google Business Profile video verification once it’s in review—BUT there are things you can do that often trigger a faster re-review or help you get support involved.
1. Request a Re-Verification (if option appears)
Sometimes after a week or two, Google will allow you to restart verification.
Check:
- Go to:
https://business.google.com/ - Select your business.
- Look for a button that says:
“Verify again”, “Try another method”, or “Submit new video”.
If available, this is the fastest workaround.
✅ 2. Contact Google Business Profile Support (the only legit path)
How to get support when they hide the Contact button
Google removes the support link when an account is in verification review — but you can still reach them using these methods:
Method A: Use the official support form link
Try this direct contact path:
Select:
- “Verification” →
- “Video verification stuck” or “Pending too long”
If the form offers:
- Chat
- Phone callback
…pick any of them.
If you ONLY see “Community Forum”, try again while logged in on a desktop and select different answer combinations.
✅ 3. Post on the Official GBP Support Forum
Believe it or not, this works.
Google has actual employees (“Gold Product Experts”) who can escalate stuck verifications.
Forum:
Post:
- Business name
- Address (or service area)
- When verification was submitted
- A screenshot of the “Pending” message
They can escalate your profile on the backend within 48–72 hours.
✅ 4. Make sure your video met all the requirements
If Google suspects missing proof, they sometimes silently do nothing.
Your video MUST show these three things in one continuous shot:
✔ Business Location
Storefront, signage, mailbox, suite number, etc.
✔ Business Equipment
Things that prove operations (computers, tools, vehicles).
✔ Business Ownership / Access
Keys, admin access, entering the building, unlocking things.
If anything was missing, prepare to re-film in case they let you retry.
✅ 5. Try Browser or Account Switching
Some users get a new verification option when switching to:
- Chrome incognito
- Another Gmail account
- The Google Maps app → “Claim this business” → “Verify now”
This sometimes refreshes the verification workflow.
⚠️ Realistic Timeline
Video verification normally takes:
- 24–72 hours for most
- Up to 7 days during heavy review periods
- Rare cases: 2–4 weeks (like what you’re experiencing)
At 3 weeks, you’re in the “stuck” category, and escalation is usually required.
